Multiple Sclerosis Research Training and Education-(working title MS Research)- is a new Bristol based charity dedicated to helping people with MS through its research and specialist treatment activities. The unique feature of this organisation is that it will strive to establish integrated MS research and treatment centres and communities involving those who have MS, those who treat it and those who research the condition. Local expertise and experience will maximise the value of research and hasten new treatments.
The Charity’s key aims are:
- To support research and specialist treatments that will overcome the disabling and debilitating problems associated with MS.
- To seek research and other opportunities that will bring us nearer to a cure.
- To contribute to excellence in health and social care delivery through professional training programmes.
- To directly assist those affected by MS to manage the symptoms and maximize ability and capability through programmes of treatment and education.
- To work collaboratively with organisations with likeminded aims (charities, private and public healthcare sectors, funding bodies, and educational agencies) to contribute to improving the quality of life for people who have MS and those who share their lives.
